How do I use the Address Book?
The Address Book lets you save frequently used cryptocurrency addresses with custom names, making it easier to send funds and reducing the risk of sending to the wrong address.
Each contact is linked to a specific Tangem Wallet. This allows your contacts to stay synchronized across your devices and remain available if you restore or use the same wallet on another phone.
How to add a contact
- Open the Tangem app.
- Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the home screen.
- Tap Address book.
- Tap Add contact.
- Enter the contact details:
- Contact name
- Color
- Wallet address
- Network
- Wallet the contact should be linked to
- Tap Add contact.
Note: You can add multiple wallet addresses to a single contact.
Edit or delete a contact
To update or remove a saved contact:
- Open Address book.
- Select the desired contact.
- Edit the contact details or tap Delete to remove it.
Using contacts
When sending cryptocurrency, saved contacts appear in the recipient selection, allowing you to choose them instead of manually entering an address.
The contact name is also displayed in your transaction history, making it easier to identify previous transfers.
How does “Send via Swap” work in Tangem Wallet?
The Send via Swap feature in Tangem Wallet combines two actions into one: exchange and transfer. You can now convert a token into another and immediately send it to the recipient’s address without performing separate operations.
How to use Send via Swap
- Open the Tangem app and log in to your wallet.
- On the home screen, select the cryptocurrency you want to send.
- On the token page, tap Transfer and then Swap & Send.
- Select the token you want to convert into and send to the recipient.
- Select the token's network.
- Enter the amount to send or the amount you want your recipient to receive (if available).
- When you enter one amount, the other is calculated automatically.
- You can also enter its equivalent in USD.
- To send your entire balance, tap Max when entering the amount to send.
- When entering the amount to receive, the final amount is fixed, so your recipient gets the exact amount. This option is selected by default when available. To enter the amount to send instead, tap From in the amount field.
- Enter, paste, or scan the recipient's address. You can also select a saved contact from your Address Book or choose a recently used address from Recent recipients.
- Always double-check the recipient's address before sending.
- Make sure you're using the correct network. Many tokens exist on multiple networks. If funds are sent via the wrong network, they may be permanently lost.
- Enter a Memo or Destination Tag if required by the recipient.
- In the Provider field, you can change the exchange provider.
- Review the Network fee settings.
- The default option is Market. You can select Fast for quicker confirmation.
- You can also select Custom to specify your own network fee. Make sure it is sufficient for the transaction to be processed.
- On supported networks, if you don't have enough native coins, a supported fee payment token may be used instead. You can change the fee payment currency if needed.
- Review all transaction details and tap Send.
- Important: Cryptocurrency transactions cannot be reversed after they are confirmed on the blockchain. Always verify the recipient address, network, amount, and any required Memo before sending.
- Confirm the transaction to sign it. For more details, see How to confirm actions in your wallet.
Example:
You have USDT, but the recipient needs ETH.
- Select USDT and tap Send.
- Choose Convert to another token.
- From the list, select ETH and specify the Ethereum network.
- Enter the amount to send or receive (if available).
- Enter the recipient’s address.
- Tangem will automatically convert USDT into ETH and send ETH directly to the recipient’s wallet. This way, the recipient immediately gets the currency they need, and you don’t have to perform extra steps.
Important: Send via Swap is not available for the following networks: Algorand, Casper, Internet Computer.
For more information about the Send via Swap feature, see our blog: How Send via Swap Works in Tangem Wallet.
How can I send NFTs from my Tangem wallet?
To send NFT from Tangem Wallet, follow these steps:
- Open the Tangem app and log in to your wallet.
- On the main screen, select NFT Collections.
- Expand the desired collection and select NFT.
- Tap Send.
- Enter, paste, or scan the recipient's address. You can also select a saved contact from your Address Book or choose a recently used address from Recent recipients.
- Review the Network fee settings.
- Review all transaction details and tap Send.
- Confirm the transaction to sign it. For more details, see How to confirm actions in your wallet.
The transaction has now been successfully signed and sent to the blockchain. You can track its status in the in-app history or by using the blockchain explorer. To do this, select the coin from the home page. To switch to the blockchain explorer, select Explorer or Explore transaction history.
Important:
- If you set the network fee manually, make sure it is sufficient for the transaction to be confirmed. A fee that is too low may prevent the transaction from being processed.
- On supported networks, if you don't have enough native coins, a supported fee payment token may be used instead. You can change the fee payment currency if needed.
- Always make sure you're using the correct network. Many NFTs exist on multiple networks. If you send an NFT via the wrong network, it may be permanently lost and cannot be recovered.

Why is the Send button disabled?
The Send button may be disabled for one of the following reasons:
- Insufficient funds to cover the network fee
By default, network fees are paid in the blockchain's native coin (for example, BNB on BNB Smart Chain or TRX on TRON).
On some supported networks, Tangem Wallet also allows you to pay network fees using supported fee payment tokens instead of the native coin. The available options depend on the network and your balance.
If you don't have enough native coins or eligible fee payment tokens to cover the network fee, the Send button will remain disabled until you top up your balance.
- You already have a pending outgoing transaction
Some blockchains only allow one outgoing transaction to be processed at a time. If you already have a transaction waiting for confirmation, you won't be able to send another one until it is confirmed.
This limitation applies to all supported networks except TRON and EVM-compatible networks (such as Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Avalanche C-Chain, and others).
Once the pending transaction is confirmed, the Send button will become available again.
Does Tangem Wallet support ENS addresses?
Tangem Wallet now supports ENS addresses, allowing you to send cryptocurrencies using a recipient's human-readable name, such as tangem.eth, instead of a lengthy and complex wallet address.
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a decentralized domain system for the Ethereum blockchain. It transforms standard wallet addresses, like 0xAB...1234, into more user-friendly and memorable names, such as tangem.eth.
How to use ENS addresses in the Tangem wallet?
In the Send window, type the ENS address instead of the usual wallet address. If the ENS name resolves correctly — meaning the Ethereum address linked to the entered name is identified — you’ll be able to proceed with the transaction as usual.
If you see the error "Invalid address", it means the name you entered isn't registered with the ENS system and doesn't match any Ethereum address. Carefully check the spelling and make sure you're using the Ethereum network. Keep in mind that ENS addresses won't work on other blockchains.
If your Tangem Wallet is linked to an ENS address, tapping the Receive button will display both your standard Ethereum address and the associated ENS name. You can copy either one and share it with the sender, depending on what’s more convenient.
What tokens can be sent to an ENS address?
ENS addresses can receive any tokens on the Ethereum network.
Can ENS addresses be used in other networks? No, the ENS system in Tangem Wallet is exclusive to the Ethereum network, ensuring that ENS names resolve correctly only within this ecosystem.
How do I create an ENS address?
- Visit the official ENS website:
https://ens.domains/. - Link your wallet using WalletConnect.
- Choose a name and verify its availability.
- Select a registration period (minimum of one year) and pay the required fee.
- Once registered, assign your wallet address to the newly created ENS name.
How long does it take to process a transaction?
The time required to process a transaction is determined by the blockchain network, not the wallet used. Network congestion and the transaction fee set by the sender influence the speed of transaction processing.
When you send cryptocurrency, the network fee you select affects the priority of your transaction in the queue of pending transactions. Miners and stakers tend to prioritize transactions with higher fees. Choose a higher fee for faster confirmation or a lower fee if you can wait to save on costs.
Tangem offers three fee levels based on the current network load: Slow, Market, and Fast. Alternatively, you can set your own network fee for your transaction.
The app calculates the fee based on network load, transaction volume, and execution priority. If you set the fee yourself, ensure that it's sufficient for confirmation; a low fee may prevent the transaction from being confirmed.
You can find more information about network commissions in our blog post: What is a Transaction Fee in Crypto and How is it Calculated.
Here's how to monitor the transaction in the Tangem app:
- Open the Tangem app.
- Tap the coin/token you are interested in.
- Scroll down and tap on the transaction you need. This will take you to your wallet's public address in the explorer.
- Scroll through the list of transactions until you find the one you want.
What does "Network fee is higher than usual" mean?
When you send cryptocurrency, the Tangem app checks the current network fee.
If the estimated network fee is unusually high (currently above approximately $10 USD), the app displays a warning to let you know before you confirm the transaction.
This is only a warning and does not prevent you from sending your transaction. You can:
- continue with the transaction if the fee is acceptable, or
- wait until network activity decreases, when fees may be lower.
Note: This warning is primarily a safety feature. It helps prevent users from accidentally confirming transactions with unusually high network fees.
