Can I set a different access codes for each device in the backup?
By default, when creating a backup, the same access code is set for all devices. You can then set different access codes for each device in the app. Detailed instructions are available in our blog article: How to Change Your Access Code on Tangem Wallet.
Is the access code protected against brute forcing?
Yes, after six unsuccessful attempts to enter the code, the delay time for the next attempt increases by 1 second. The maximum delay time is 45 seconds. The delay only resets after the correct access code has been entered.
Can I restore the access code if I forget it?
Yes. If you forget the access code for one of your Tangem devices, you can reset the access code and create a new one in the Tangem app. To reset your access code, see: I forgot my access code. How can I reset it?
Can I restore the access code if I have reset all devices to factory settings except one?
No, you will need two devices to reset your access code: the device for which you want to reset the access code and a backup device to confirm the reset.
If you discard all but one device, you cannot recover the access code for that device. This device cannot be reset to factory settings without the correct access code.
If I create a wallet with a seed phrase, will there be an access code on the device?
Regardless of your wallet setup method, the access code will protect each device as it is an integral part of the backup.
