Privacy & Account Management
What personal data is collected when I sign up?
During KYC onboarding, the following information is collected and processed by Paera LLC and Sumsub, a regulated identity verification partner:
- Full legal name
- Residential address
- Date of birth
- Phone number and email address
- Government-issued ID documents
- Biometric verification data
- For US residents: Social Security Number, as required under the Bank Secrecy Act and FinCEN regulations
This data is collected and stored in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Tangem AG does not have access to your personal verification data — it is held and processed by Paera and Sumsub.
Your Tangem Wallet is not affected. No personal data is linked to your wallet, and your wallet activity remains completely separate from your Tangem Pay account.
What information is shared when I make a payment?
When you make a purchase, standard transaction details are shared with the merchant and Visa. This includes:
- Transaction date and amount
- Merchant name
- Cardholder name and User ID
- Card identifier (for example, last 4 digits)
The merchant and Visa may have additional regulatory obligations, for example under the Travel Rule or Bank Secrecy Act, that require access to information collected during onboarding.
Can I delete my Tangem Pay account?
Yes. You can request to close your Tangem Pay account by contacting support at support@paera.com.
Before closure, you will need to withdraw any remaining balance from your account. Once closed, your virtual card will be deactivated and access to Tangem Pay features will be revoked. Data may be retained as described above.
I reset my wallet or deleted my account — can I still access my Tangem Pay?
No. Both a factory reset and deleting your Tangem account will cause you to permanently lose access to your Tangem Pay card and any funds on it. There is currently no way to relink a Tangem Pay account to a different wallet.
Before performing a factory reset or deleting your account, always withdraw your full Tangem Pay balance first.
If you have already reset your card or deleted your account, contact support@paera.com. Note that recovery cannot be guaranteed at this time. The ability to relink a Tangem Pay account to a new wallet is planned for a future update — users affected by this issue will be assisted once that feature is available.
