Here's the honest issue with most beginners' storage decisions: they leave tokens on the exchange where they bought them. That feels convenient. But custodial storage, leaving your AXS with an exchange or service, means the platform controls the private keys, not you. Platform hacks, insolvency, regulatory freezes, and exit fraud are all real risks that self-custody eliminates.
