Ripple’s former CTO, David Schwartz, has issued urgent warnings about a surge in scams targeting XRP Ledger users. These scams are spreading rapidly across social media platforms such as X, Telegram, and Instagram, and include fake airdrops, giveaway schemes, impersonation accounts, and fraudulent NFT offers. Scammers are employing deepfake AI videos, phishing links, and fake customer support channels to deceive users into sharing wallet details or approving malicious transactions. Schwartz stressed that Ripple has never conducted airdrops or giveaways and cautioned that any such posts are scams. He also pointed out a serious vulnerability in Windows BitLocker that could expose sensitive data, including private keys, to attackers. The XRP community is strongly urged to stay vigilant, avoid unsolicited offers, and never share private keys or approve suspicious transactions.
