Ripple has released XRP Ledger (XRPL) software version 3.1.2, addressing critical security vulnerabilities that could have led to server crashes, node outages, and unauthorized fund transfers. This update prioritizes stability and vulnerability fixes, following an emergency patch (v3.1.1) that resolved a flaw in the Batch amendment (XLS-56). The flaw could have allowed attackers to bypass wallet authorization and drain funds. Node operators are strongly urged to trust Ripple's newly rotated GPG key to ensure a secure and successful upgrade process. The vulnerabilities were responsibly disclosed by XRPL Commons community members, with RippleX collaborating on the fix. The update arrives amid rapid growth in tokenized assets on XRPL, which surged from $111 million to $1.14 billion in 2026, and follows recent additions of lending protocols and permissioned DEX features.
