The company claims the legislation compels Grok to alter its responses on sensitive topics, amounting to compelled speech and violating constitutional rights. Additionally, xAI contends that the law's requirements for differential treatment to address diversity or historical discrimination are paradoxical and undermine consistent enforcement. The lawsuit, filed in a US district court, seeks an injunction before the law takes effect on June 30. This follows a similar lawsuit xAI filed against California, highlighting ongoing debates over state versus federal oversight of AI technologies.
