Paxos and Ripple expand institutional crypto offerings

Paxos added XRP to its Crypto Brokerage, enabling partners to offer XRP trading and custody. Ripple updated its custody solution to support the Canton Network, expanding institutional digital asset access.

Paxos has expanded its Crypto Brokerage platform by adding support for XRP. This enables institutional partners and major financial platforms—including PayPal, Venmo, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab, and Mercado Libre—to offer trading, custody, deposits, and withdrawals of XRP. In circulation since 2012, XRP is held in over 8.1 million wallets and has a market capitalization of nearly $95 billion. This move is part of Paxos’s broader strategy to provide regulated digital asset infrastructure, with its asset roster expected to grow from 12 to nearly 29 by 2026. Meanwhile, Ripple has updated its institutional custody solution to version 1.43, introducing support for the Canton Network. This update allows banks and funds to securely hold and transfer Canton Coin and CIP-56 tokens, using a bring-your-own-validator model that keeps signing keys with clients. The Ripple update also adds pre-approvals and two-step transfers, enhancing security and control. Both Paxos and Ripple are expanding their offerings to meet the growing institutional demand for compliant digital asset services.
