U.S. crypto adoption rebounds to 12% amid ETF inflows
U.S. crypto adoption rebounded to 12% in March, fueled by $1.3B in Bitcoin ETF inflows and institutional interest. Bitcoin leads, but most investors expect prices to stay below current levels by year-end.
A Deutsche Bank survey of 3,400 U.S. consumers shows cryptocurrency adoption rebounded in March, rising from 7% in February to 12%. This marks a return to levels last seen in July of the previous year, following a decline from a peak of 14% since the study began in 2023. The resurgence is largely attributed to increased institutional interest, especially in Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which attracted net inflows of about $1.3 billion in March. Bitcoin remains the most popular holding among U.S. crypto investors. Despite the uptick in adoption and a nearly 9% rise in Bitcoin's price during March, many investors still favor traditional assets like gold and stocks. The reports highlight a growing but cautious sentiment toward cryptocurrency investment, with renewed participation driven by institutional activity and ETF inflows.
