KBank and Ripple partner for blockchain remittances
KBank and Ripple are piloting blockchain remittances to boost speed, reduce costs, and enhance transparency, targeting markets like the UAE and Thailand with multi-phase trials.
KBank has announced a strategic partnership with Ripple to pilot blockchain-based cross-border remittance solutions. This collaboration features a multi-phase proof-of-concept program, utilizing Ripple’s global payment network and the Palisade SaaS wallet to assess improvements in transaction speed, cost efficiency, and transparency. The initiative includes technical validation of digital wallet-based remittance models, system integration, and direct on-chain transfers to markets such as the UAE and Thailand. These trials are designed to bypass traditional SWIFT delays and align with South Korea’s 2026 roadmap for legalized stablecoin payments. This partnership marks a significant step by established financial institutions toward adopting blockchain technology for international payments, with the potential for future expansion into broader digital asset services.
