XRP Expands to Solana and Ethereum, Supercharging DeFi Access

Wrapped XRP launches on Solana, Ethereum, and others, unlocking over $100 million in liquidity and expanding XRP’s DeFi utility. The integration aims to boost interoperability, transaction speed, and cross-chain access.

Hex Trust is launching wrapped XRP (wXRP), a 1:1-backed representation of native XRP, to expand XRP’s DeFi and cross-chain utility beyond the XRP Ledger. wXRP will be tradable on Ethereum, Solana, Optimism, and HyperEVM, launching with over $100 million in total value locked. The asset will be issued and custodied in a regulated environment, allowing exposure across DeFi applications without unregulated third-party bridges. Ripple’s XRP is also set to be integrated into Solana’s system, aiming to enhance transaction speeds, reduce costs, and foster new DeFi and cross-chain opportunities. The collaboration between XRP and Solana is seen as a significant development for blockchain interoperability, unlocking deep liquidity and new DeFi utility for XRP. The integration uses LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard, ensuring compatibility with the multichain DeFi ecosystem and supporting new liquidity pairs with Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD. This move reflects a broader trend of major blockchain platforms working together to create more integrated and user-friendly DeFi solutions.
