XRP Ledger surpasses Ethereum in tokenized commodities

XRP Ledger leads tokenized commodities with $2.2B inflow since early 2026, surpassing Ethereum’s $1.6B. XRPL’s technical strengths are fueling its rapid growth in real-world asset tokenization.

XRP Ledger (XRPL) has surpassed Ethereum to become the leading network for tokenized commodities, according to data from Token Terminal and the RWA Foundation. From early 2026 to October, XRPL attracted a net capital inflow of $2.2 billion into tokenized commodities, outpacing Ethereum’s $1.6 billion during the same period. Other major blockchain networks, such as Avalanche and BNB Chain, lagged behind with $334.5 million and $57.5 million, respectively. This shift is largely attributed to XRPL’s technical strengths, including direct protocol-level support for real-world asset tokenization and a built-in IOU mechanism. These features reduce complexity and costs compared to Ethereum’s variable transaction fees and more complex asset issuance processes. As a result, XRPL is gaining traction among industrial companies and is emerging as a significant player in the rapidly growing real-world asset tokenization sector.
