XRP Ledger Batch V1.1 upgrade nears activation

XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 upgrade, enabling up to eight linked transactions, is one validator vote away from activation after major security fixes and broad validator support.

The XRP Ledger is nearing the activation of its Batch V1.1 upgrade, which enables users to bundle up to eight linked transactions into a single operation. This enhancement is designed to streamline processes like token swaps, coordinated settlements, and platform-fee bundling by ensuring that all transactions in a batch either succeed or fail together. Currently, 27 out of 35 trusted validators support the upgrade, just one vote short of the 80% threshold needed to start a two-week activation countdown. Batch V1.1 replaces a previous version that was withdrawn due to a critical authorization vulnerability. Developers have since addressed 11 additional issues related to signatures, authorization checks, and server stability. The amendment prioritizes protocol-level control over interdependent transactions rather than increasing transaction speed. Activation requires sustained validator consensus above the threshold for two weeks, giving node operators time to upgrade and ensuring robust support for the change.
