Robinhood unveils Layer 2 chain for tokenized stock trading
Robinhood launched its Layer 2 chain for 24/7 tokenized stock trading, integrating with 1inch and Uniswap, and expanding globally with new DeFi products and markets.
Robinhood has launched the public mainnet for Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 network built on Arbitrum. This marks a major step into blockchain infrastructure and decentralized finance for the company. The new chain enables 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks and real-world assets, with Stock Tokens now accessible in over 120 countries through Robinhood Wallet. Robinhood also introduced Robinhood Earn, a decentralized lending product offering an estimated 7% yield on USDG. The launch features integrations with leading DeFi protocols like Uniswap and 1inch. Notably, 1inch supports swaps of Stock Tokens and ETPs, and provides backend services for pricing, compliance, and transactions. The chain is open to external developers, supported by providers such as QuickNode and tools like Blockscout explorer. Robinhood continues its global expansion, including perpetual futures trading in Europe, upcoming crypto trading in the U.K., and entry into Canada via the WonderFi acquisition. This infrastructure aims to bridge traditional finance and DeFi, making tokenized asset markets more accessible worldwide.
