MoonPay unveils Open Wallet Standard for AI agents
MoonPay’s Open Wallet Standard lets AI agents securely manage crypto and sign transactions across blockchains, with support from over 15 major organizations.
MoonPay has introduced the Open Wallet Standard (OWS), an open-source framework designed to give AI agents a secure and universal interface for managing cryptocurrency funds, signing transactions, and interacting across multiple blockchains. OWS addresses wallet technology fragmentation by providing a unified protocol for wallet creation, key management, and transaction signing. It ensures private keys remain secure and inaccessible to AI agents. The standard supports major blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, TON, Tron, and Sui. Backed by over 15 organizations—such as PayPal, OKX, Ripple, Circle, the Ethereum Foundation, and the Solana Foundation—OWS is available under an MIT license on GitHub, npm, and PyPI. MoonPay aims to streamline agent-driven commerce and enable secure, efficient value transfers across blockchain networks.
