DeFi stablecoin deposits surge; tokenized stocks soar

DeFi stablecoin deposits hit $24B, up 560.8% in three years, led by USDC and Aave. Tokenized stock deposits also soar to $300M, up 2,451%, with Solana, Robinhood Chain, and BNB Chain leading.

Stablecoin deposits in decentralized finance (DeFi) have surged to $24 billion, marking a 560.8% increase over the past three years, according to Token Terminal data. This growth signals a shift in user behavior, with more stablecoin holders choosing to deposit assets into DeFi protocols to earn yield rather than simply holding them. USDC leads the market with a 38.2% share, or about $9.2 billion, followed by USDT at 20.3% ($4.9 billion) and USDe at 9.0% ($2.2 billion). Collectively, these three stablecoins account for roughly two-thirds of all DeFi stablecoin deposits. Despite this impressive growth, DeFi stablecoin deposits still represent only about 8% of the total $298.4 billion stablecoin market. In the lending sector, Aave dominates with a 38.3% share, while Morpho is emerging as a strong competitor through its isolated lending markets and integrations. Meanwhile, tokenized stock deposits in DeFi have also soared, surpassing $300 million—a 2,451% increase over the past year—driven mainly by Solana, Robinhood Chain, and BNB Chain, with xStocks capturing the largest share among issuers.
