Mastercard praises Ripple’s RLUSD at XRPL Hackathon

Mastercard reportedly praised Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin at the XRPL Hackathon, boosting its visibility. No official confirmation of new product launches or increased XRP demand was provided.

Mastercard reportedly expressed support for Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin during the XRPL Commons Hackathon in New York City, according to community member Lost Art. The event, held from October 24 to 25, brought together developers, entrepreneurs, designers, and finance professionals to build applications on the XRP Ledger. As an official partner of the hackathon, Mastercard was said to have praised RLUSD while outlining partner pitch requirements, although no official company statement was released. The hackathon, hosted by XRPL Commons, focused on AI-driven financial technology and featured four tracks: Agentic Finance, Lending & Borrowing, Protocol Innovation, and Why Not, with over $40,000 in prizes. Ripple and Arf also announced a new arrangement using RLUSD to supply working capital to licensed payment businesses, aiming to address short-term funding gaps in cross-border payments. While Mastercard's reported endorsement adds visibility to RLUSD, there were no official announcements regarding new product launches, increased XRP demand, or updated settlement volumes.
