Ripple’s RLUSD Hits $1B Milestone, Surges on Ethereum & Gains Traction

Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin surpassed $1B in market cap, saw a 174% trading volume surge, and is thriving on Ethereum. Regulatory approvals and partnerships fuel growth, while XRP whales consolidate holdings.

Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has experienced rapid growth, surpassing $1 billion in market capitalization within a year of its launch and reaching over 7,000 holders. Trading volume soared by 174% to $73.6 million in 24 hours, reflecting increasing adoption. RLUSD is primarily expanding on Ethereum, where it holds about $1.03 billion of its $1.26 billion supply, benefiting from Ethereum's deep liquidity and integration with major DeFi protocols. The stablecoin has also achieved regulatory milestones, being recognized in Abu Dhabi and authorized in Singapore, and has entered new markets through partnerships in Japan and Africa. Ripple has collaborated with MasterCard and Gemini to enable blockchain-based settlements and card transactions. Meanwhile, XRP whale wallets have decreased in number but now control a seven-year high in total holdings, indicating consolidation among large holders. Despite its growth, RLUSD remains the eighth-largest stablecoin, facing strong competition from established players like USDT and USDC.
