ProShares launches ETF for stablecoin reserve compliance
ProShares launches IQMM, the first ETF for stablecoin issuers to meet GENIUS Act reserve rules, investing in short-term U.S. government securities for regulated, liquid compliance.
ProShares has introduced the GENIUS Money Market ETF (IQMM), the first exchange-traded fund designed to serve as a compliant reserve vehicle for stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, IQMM invests exclusively in short-term U.S. government securities, including Treasury bills and notes with maturities up to 93 days, as well as overnight repurchase agreements. The GENIUS Act, enacted in July 2025, mandates that stablecoin issuers fully back every dollar of stablecoins in circulation with high-quality liquid assets. IQMM is structured to meet these requirements, offering a transparent, regulated, and liquid solution for managing stablecoin reserves. While available to all investors, IQMM is primarily intended for institutional stablecoin treasuries seeking to comply with federal reserve mandates. This launch represents a significant step in bridging traditional finance and digital assets, providing a streamlined compliance tool as the stablecoin market expands.
