SG-FORGE launches EURCV stablecoin on XRP Ledger

SG-FORGE launches EURCV, a euro-pegged stablecoin, on the XRP Ledger, expanding its multi-chain presence and leveraging Ripple’s custody tech for institutional-grade adoption.

Societe Generale Forge (SG-FORGE), the digital asset arm of Societe Generale, has launched its euro-pegged stablecoin, EUR CoinVertible (EURCV), on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This marks the third major blockchain integration for EURCV, following previous deployments on Ethereum and Solana, highlighting SG-FORGE’s commitment to a multi-chain strategy. The integration leverages Ripple’s institutional-grade custody technology, ensuring robust security and operational standards for institutional clients. By launching on XRPL, SG-FORGE aims to expand institutional access to the euro-backed token and foster the adoption of compliant digital assets. The initiative unlocks new use cases for EURCV, including trading, payments, and collateralization within Ripple’s ecosystem. XRPL was chosen for its high throughput, low transaction fees, and strong decentralized architecture. This move follows a recent SWIFT pilot involving EURCV, positioning the stablecoin for broader adoption across both traditional and decentralized finance sectors.
