Gnosis Pay data breach prompts security upgrade

Gnosis Pay’s former crypto card system was breached, exposing user data. Funds are safe, and 3D Secure is now mandatory for online payments.

On November 3, Gnosis Pay identified unauthorized access to its former crypto card system for individual users. Exposed data included names, mailing addresses, card numbers, and wallet addresses. The company swiftly contained the breach within two hours, replaced compromised credentials, and patched the vulnerability. No customer funds were affected, but the risk of targeted scams has increased. Only the individual card platform was impacted, while the enterprise solution remains secure. Gnosis Pay notified affected users by email and reported the incident to authorities. To strengthen security, mandatory 3D Secure verification is now required for online payments until the system closes on December 20. The exact number of affected customers was not disclosed.
