Zondacrypto collapse: Founder missing, millions lost
Zondacrypto collapsed after its founder vanished and CEO became unreachable. The exchange shut down, losses topped $96M, and its token crashed. Authorities are investigating possible fraud.
Zondacrypto, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has collapsed following a series of alarming events. In March 2022, founder Sylwester Suszek disappeared after sending a desperate voice message to his sister, sparking fears of foul play. His successor, Przemyslaw Kral, who had previously assured customers about the safety of over $330 million in Bitcoin, has also become unreachable. Some reports suggest Kral is abroad, but his exact whereabouts remain unknown. The exchange's website went offline in April 2026, leaving thousands of customers unable to access or withdraw their funds. Estimated losses have surpassed 350 million zlotys (approximately $96 million). The native ZND token plummeted to near-zero, and on-chain data revealed a 99.7% drop in visible hot-wallet Bitcoin holdings. On June 29, 2026, Estonia's Financial Intelligence Unit revoked the parent company's license. Authorities have since launched a fraud investigation, and the incident has been flagged as a high-severity market event, raising serious concerns about project legitimacy and founder accountability in the crypto industry.
