Revolut glitch briefly shows Bitcoin at $0.02

Revolut briefly displayed Bitcoin at $0.02 due to a glitch, alarming users. The issue, also affecting other tokens, was isolated to Revolut and did not impact real market prices. Normal pricing was quickly restored.

On May 8, Revolut users worldwide witnessed a sudden glitch in the app’s cryptocurrency price display, with Bitcoin briefly shown at just $0.02—far below its actual market value of around $79,800. This anomaly also affected other tokens such as Solana and XRP, appearing in in-app charts and push notifications, and even triggering alerts about a 52-week low. Importantly, the price drop was not reflected on major exchanges like CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap, where Bitcoin continued trading at normal levels. This indicated the issue was isolated to Revolut’s platform. The displayed prices quickly returned to normal within seconds or minutes. Some users claimed their buy orders were filled at these erroneous prices, but there is no independent confirmation of such trades. Revolut acknowledged technical issues affecting crypto functionalities and stated that engineers were working to resolve the problem. The incident has reignited concerns about platform reliability and the risks of glitches in crypto trading apps.
