Zcash group registers as lobbyist, secures $750K grant
Zcash advocacy group PGPZ registers as a lobbyist in D.C., led by Divij Pandya and funded by a $750,000 grant, focusing on crypto privacy and tax policy.
Pretty Good Policy for Zcash (PGPZ), an advocacy group dedicated to the Zcash cryptocurrency, has officially registered as a lobbying organization in Washington, D.C., effective October 1. The group is led by Divij Pandya, its sole registered lobbyist. PGPZ is backed by a $750,000 grant from Zcash Community Grants, which will fund its first year of operations. The organization’s lobbying priorities include the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) and digital asset tax proposals, with the goal of shaping U.S. policy on privacy-preserving cryptocurrencies. Founded in June 2023 as an evolution of earlier advocacy efforts, PGPZ’s registration marks a significant milestone in Zcash’s engagement with U.S. regulators and underscores the growing importance of policy advocacy for privacy-focused digital assets.
