Argentine judge freezes 25 wallets in $LIBRA probe
An Argentine judge froze 25 wallets tied to the $LIBRA token probe, ordering six exchanges to provide owner data after millions were traced across networks. The investigation follows a major token collapse.
An Argentine federal judge has ordered the freezing of 25 cryptocurrency wallets linked to the $LIBRA token investigation. Six international exchanges—Binance, Bybit, OKX, CoinEx, FixedFloat, and Bitfinex—must provide detailed information about the wallet owners. The probe follows the February 2025 collapse of the $LIBRA token, which was heavily promoted on social media. Its price soared from $0.01 to nearly $5 before crashing, causing estimated user losses of $100–250 million. Authorities traced millions of dollars, including $8.2 million in recent movements and about $100 million withdrawn by a small group of wallets, across Solana and TRON networks. The court order demands KYC documents, IP addresses, transaction histories, and other identifying data to prevent further asset movement during the ongoing money-laundering investigation. The freeze affects wallets across the six exchanges, but the current status of the funds remains unclear.
