Bitnomial Unveils First CFTC-Regulated U.S. Crypto Spot Exchange

Bitnomial will launch the first CFTC-regulated U.S. spot crypto exchange, offering both leveraged and non-leveraged trading for major tokens. The move aims to boost liquidity, institutional participation, and regulatory compliance.

Bitnomial, a Chicago-based exchange, is set to become the first U.S. derivatives platform to offer regulated spot cryptocurrency trading under CFTC oversight, following approval effective November 2025. This move marks a significant milestone for the U.S. crypto market, as Bitnomial will provide both leveraged and non-leveraged spot products, including major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The platform aims to attract liquidity from offshore markets, enhance institutional participation, and reshape the U.S. crypto trading landscape by bridging derivatives infrastructure with regulated spot trading. Bitnomial’s self-certification filing includes retail leveraged trading, and the inclusion of RLUSD stablecoin margin and XRP collateral is expected to improve capital efficiency and compliance. The CFTC’s approval represents a regulatory shift, providing a framework for enhanced investor protection, market integrity, and anti-fraud measures. Bitnomial’s initiative is anticipated to increase liquidity and trading volumes for major tokens on U.S.-based platforms, accelerate institutional participation, and strengthen compliance adoption, potentially setting a new standard for federally regulated spot crypto trading in the United States.
