Ripple Wins Key Approval to Expand Payment Services in Singapore
Ripple has received approval to expand its payment services in Singapore, allowing broader digital token offerings and strengthening its position in the Asia-Pacific region's growing digital asset market.
Ripple has secured approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore to expand its Major Payment Institution (MPI) license, allowing its subsidiary Ripple Markets APAC to broaden regulated payment services in Singapore. The expanded license enables Ripple to offer a wider range of digital payment token services, including its RLUSD stablecoin and XRP, and to provide end-to-end payment solutions such as collection, holding, token swapping, and payouts through a single integration point. This development strengthens Ripple’s ability to serve banks, fintechs, and crypto companies across the Asia-Pacific region, leveraging Singapore’s progressive regulatory environment. The move is seen as a strong endorsement of Ripple’s compliance standards and operational integrity, positioning the company to scale its On-Demand Liquidity solution and other enterprise offerings. Singapore remains a pivotal market for Ripple, with the Asia-Pacific region leading in digital asset adoption and on-chain activity growing significantly year-over-year. The expanded license is expected to boost institutional confidence and may serve as a model for regulatory engagement in other jurisdictions.
