CFTC expands advisory committee with crypto leaders

The CFTC expanded its Innovation Advisory Committee, adding top crypto and finance leaders to help modernize regulations and guide U.S. digital asset policy.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has expanded its Innovation Advisory Committee to 35 members, bringing in leading executives from both the cryptocurrency and traditional finance sectors. Notable additions include the CEOs of Coinbase, Ripple, Robinhood, Uniswap Labs, and Solana Labs, alongside representatives from major financial institutions such as Nasdaq, CME Group, and Cboe Global Markets. Chaired by Mike Selig, the committee aims to help the CFTC modernize regulatory frameworks and address the evolving needs of firms driving financial innovation. This expansion signals a deeper integration of crypto industry perspectives into federal regulatory policy and highlights the CFTC’s growing role in overseeing digital asset and derivatives markets. Replacing the former Technology Advisory Committee, the new group is tasked with providing expertise and recommendations on innovation-driven developments in financial markets, as lawmakers continue to debate the future of U.S. crypto regulation.
