Coinbase unveils US500 Perps and 50x Hyperliquid futures
Coinbase launched US500 Perps for 500 U.S. stocks and integrated Hyperliquid-powered perpetual futures with up to 50x leverage into Base App for eligible users outside the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
Coinbase has expanded its derivatives offerings with two major launches. First, it introduced US500 Perps, a perpetual-style contract that allows traders to gain exposure to 500 leading U.S. companies in a single product, now available on Coinbase Derivatives. This marks the first time U.S. traders can access perpetual-style exposure to the entire U.S. large-cap equity market via a derivatives platform. Separately, Coinbase integrated Hyperliquid's perpetual futures trading into its Base App. This enables eligible users outside the U.S., U.K., and Canada to trade over 290 markets—including crypto, tokenized stocks, and commodities—with leverage up to 50x. Trades are executed through Hyperliquid's onchain infrastructure, while users remain within the Base App interface. Perpetual contracts now account for about 75% of global crypto trading volume, and this feature was highly requested by Coinbase's active user base. The integration leverages Hyperliquid's liquidity and execution speed, enhancing the trading experience without requiring users to leave their wallets.
