Cerebras, MARA, and Meta unveil major AI infrastructure plans

Cerebras to deploy 200MW AI capacity in Europe by 2027. MARA secures 2GW site for AI/data centers. Meta to launch Iris AI chip in 2026, reducing Nvidia/AMD reliance.

Cerebras Systems has announced a major expansion of its AI computing capacity in Europe, planning to deploy 200 megawatts (MW) across France, Norway, and Finland by the end of 2027. The first phase is expected to go online by late 2026. This multi-billion dollar investment will support OpenAI workloads through an existing partnership and will leverage hydroelectric power in the Nordics for sustainable energy. Following the news, Cerebras (CBRS) stock rose about 7%. Analysts maintain a Strong Buy rating, with a consensus price target of $296.44, indicating a potential 63.1% upside. Meanwhile, MARA Holdings shares surged after acquiring a 1,200-acre powered land site in Matagorda County, securing a 2 GW power capacity pipeline to support its transition into AI and data center infrastructure. The site is projected to deliver 1 GW by October 2027 and 2 GW by April 2028. Meta is also set to begin production of its first proprietary AI chip, Iris, in September 2026, aiming to lower computing costs and reduce reliance on Nvidia and AMD, with Broadcom and TSMC as partners.
