Saylor: Bitcoin Stronger Than Ever, Volatility Drops Despite Wall Street

Michael Saylor downplays Wall Street's impact on Bitcoin volatility, noting a decline from 80% to 50% since 2020. Despite recent price drops, he remains confident in Bitcoin's strength and Strategy's resilience.

Michael Saylor has dismissed concerns that Wall Street's growing involvement in Bitcoin has increased its volatility, asserting instead that the asset is becoming more stable as it matures. Saylor highlighted that Bitcoin's annualized volatility has dropped from about 80% in 2020 to around 50% currently, and he expects further declines as institutional adoption rises. Despite a recent 12% to 30% drop in Bitcoin's price, which erased 2025 gains and reduced Strategy's mNAV multiple, Saylor remains confident in both Bitcoin's long-term strength and his company's resilience. He emphasized that Strategy is engineered to withstand significant drawdowns of up to 80-90% and continues to accumulate Bitcoin, recently making an $835 million purchase. Saylor maintains that short-term price drops are normal and do not indicate failure, urging the crypto market to "never back down" and insisting that Bitcoin is stronger than ever. He projects that Bitcoin's volatility will eventually align at about 1.5 times that of the S&P 500, with superior performance.
