Trump Media & Technology Group has announced a $6 billion all-stock merger with TAE Technologies, a company specializing in fusion energy. The deal, expected to close by mid-2026 pending regulatory and shareholder approvals, will see both companies' shareholders each owning about 50% of the new entity. Trump Media will provide up to $300 million in cash to TAE, with plans to begin construction on a 50 MW utility-scale fusion power plant in 2026, and larger plants of 350–500 MW in the future. The merger aims to supply clean energy for AI data centers and expand into advanced energy and life sciences sectors. Following the announcement, Trump Media shares surged between 18% and 38%. The combined company will also include Trump Media's crypto and fintech initiatives, such as Truth Social and crypto-linked ETFs. The leadership will be shared, with Devin Nunes and Michl Binderbauer as co-CEOs, and a board including Donald Trump Jr. and other representatives from both companies. TAE has developed five fusion reactors and raised over $1.3 billion from investors.
