Anthropic’s Q3 revenue rises, eyes $2T IPO amid slower growth

Anthropic’s Q3 revenue rose 45–46% to $16.8B, with strong margins. Growth slowed, but investors are optimistic ahead of a potential $2T IPO.

Anthropic, the developer behind Claude AI models, reported third-quarter revenue of $16.8 billion, marking a 45–46% increase over the previous quarter. The company achieved adjusted profitability, positive free cash flow, and an 85% gross margin, with an operating margin above 11%. Despite these strong results, analysts noted a slowdown compared to the previous quarter’s jump from $4.7 billion in Q1 to $11.6 billion in Q2. Investors remain optimistic about Anthropic’s financial outlook and strategic position as it prepares for a potential IPO in November, with market expectations valuing the company between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion. Anthropic highlighted operational efficiency, generating $1.70 in revenue for every $1 of computing power used. However, some caution that intensifying competition and slower growth could impact future valuations. The company reaffirmed its commitment to safe AI development and the use of AI in its own operations, including chip design.
