Moscow Exchange sets December 1 crypto trading launch
Moscow Exchange will launch crypto trading on December 1, 2026, using its existing infrastructure. Initial assets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and TRON. Testing is ongoing under new Russian regulations.
Moscow Exchange is set to launch cryptocurrency trading on December 1, 2026, following the introduction of Russia’s new cryptocurrency market law. The exchange is currently conducting tests with professional traders, which will continue until the official launch date. Under the new regulation, Moscow Exchange can leverage its existing trading organizer license and stock market infrastructure for digital assets. This streamlines the process for both the exchange and its participants, as no additional registration will be required. Initially, the platform will support cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and TRON. Previously, the exchange offered perpetual and index futures for these assets, but only to qualified investors. The new service will use a partner digital depository for trade settlements. Sberbank is also testing crypto trading, aiming for a simultaneous launch. Demand for crypto-linked products remains strong, with around 74,000 clients and a daily turnover of approximately 2.9 billion rubles.
