Fortitude eyes $100M deal for Zcash mining equipment
Fortitude signed a non-binding deal with BITMAIN for priority access to next-gen Zcash mining rigs, planning up to $100M investment. The agreement includes a $20M refundable deposit.
Fortitude Mining Holdings has entered a non-binding letter of intent with BITMAIN Technologies to secure priority access to next-generation Zcash mining equipment. The potential investment could reach up to $100 million, with an initial refundable deposit of $20 million—representing 20% of the proposed commitment. This deposit is financed through an expanded credit facility with Digital Currency Group, now totaling $70 million. Currently, Fortitude operates about 4.7 GSol/s of Equihash hashrate and manages over 60 MW of contracted power across seven U.S. sites. In July, the company agreed to purchase 9,000 Antminer Z15 Pro units for $31.5 million, which would add 7.56 GSol/s of mining capacity. The new arrangement aims to further expand Fortitude’s Zcash mining operations and secure early access to advanced hardware. However, the final purchase depends on a definitive agreement and the commercial release of the equipment by BITMAIN.
