Bitdeer secures $7B AI cloud deal with Malaysia expansion
Bitdeer signed a 10-year deal for a 65.1MW AI data center in Malaysia, raising global AI cloud capacity to 206.5MW. The facility goes live by Q3 2027 and is part of a $7B contract pipeline.
Bitdeer Technologies Group’s AI cloud division has entered a 10-year agreement for the A202 data center, a 65.1MW facility at its Johor Bahru, Malaysia campus. This represents Bitdeer’s largest single capacity addition in Southeast Asia, boosting its secured AI cloud capacity to approximately 206.5MW globally—59% of its 350MW target by early 2028. The A202 facility, set to be operational by Q3 2027, will be constructed on land already owned by Bitdeer, enabling the extension of existing power, liquid-cooling, and network infrastructure. Once online, the Johor campus will offer a combined 86.8MW of AI cloud capacity. A202 is designed for liquid-cooled, rack-scale NVIDIA hardware, including GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin systems, supporting GPU cloud services and data-hosting workloads. Bitdeer anticipates A202 will generate revenue per megawatt similar to its A102 facility, with contracts exceeding $800 million across 9.5MW for five years. The expansion will be primarily funded through customer prepayments, and Bitdeer’s active AI cloud pipeline now surpasses $7 billion in potential contract value.
