JPMorgan: Hyperliquid ETF inflows stall amid competition

JPMorgan says Hyperliquid ETF inflows have stalled since July as competition from regulated platforms grows. HYPE faces challenges in sustaining market share and investor interest.

JPMorgan reports that after strong inflows in May and June, Hyperliquid (HYPE) ETFs have seen demand stall in July and early August. This slowdown comes as competition intensifies from regulated crypto derivatives platforms and prediction markets. Initially, Hyperliquid emerged as a leading non-bitcoin crypto fund, with its HYPE token becoming one of the fastest-growing crypto assets and ranking high in corporate crypto treasury holdings. However, analysts point to significant challenges for decentralized platforms like Hyperliquid, including increased regulatory scrutiny, competition from U.S.-regulated perpetual futures products, and concerns over compliance and investor protection. The launch of U.S.-regulated products may shift liquidity away from decentralized venues. Hyperliquid's expansion into prediction markets has also met stiff competition. Recent data shows net outflows from HYPE ETFs and a notable drop in token price, reflecting waning investor enthusiasm and raising questions about Hyperliquid's ability to maintain its market share against larger ecosystems like Solana and XRP.
