Securitize Capital expands with SEC adviser registration

Securitize Capital registered as an SEC investment adviser, expanding its regulated platform and enabling broader support for institutional onchain investment strategies.

Securitize Capital has registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an investment adviser, further expanding its regulated platform for institutional clients. This new registration complements Securitize’s existing US regulatory framework, which already includes broker-dealer, alternative trading system, transfer agent, and fund administration services. By becoming an SEC-registered investment adviser, Securitize Capital can now support institutional investors and asset managers in developing onchain portfolio strategies, removing previous restrictions on advisory activities. However, the company must now meet additional disclosure, compliance, recordkeeping, and examination requirements under the Investment Advisers Act. Securitize manages over $5 billion in tokenized assets, including funds from major asset managers. The company went public under the ticker SECZ on July 2, 2026. Since then, its shares have fallen about 46% from their first-day closing price, with a notable 9–10% drop following the SEC registration announcement.
