Bitcoin Japan raises $60M, allocates $4M to Bitcoin
Bitcoin Japan raised 9.7 billion yen, allocating 662 million yen for its first Bitcoin purchase. The rest will fund private equity, mining, and tech projects, marking a shift to digital assets.
Bitcoin Japan has successfully completed a financing round, raising approximately 9.66 to 9.7 billion yen (about $59.5–$60.3 million) through unsecured convertible bonds and stock acquisition rights. EVO FUND contributed a significant portion of the capital. Of the total funds, around 662 million yen (about $4–$4.1 million), or roughly 7%, is allocated for the company’s first Bitcoin purchase. This marks a milestone in Bitcoin Japan’s transition to a digital asset treasury strategy and aligns with the growing trend of institutional Bitcoin adoption in Asia. The majority of the proceeds will support private equity investments, rare earth mining operations in South Africa, and the development of a Robot-as-a-Service business line. Remaining funds will be used for working capital and strategic expansion. This move follows a previous fundraising shortfall and reflects the company’s broader plan to integrate Bitcoin and AI infrastructure into its business model.
