Vanguard Opens Crypto ETF Trading to Millions of Clients

Vanguard will allow clients to trade regulated crypto ETFs and funds, including Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and Solana, starting tomorrow. The move reverses its previous policy and is expected to boost investor interest.

Vanguard has announced it will allow its clients to trade cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and mutual funds on its platform, reversing its previous policy that restricted access to digital asset products. Starting tomorrow, more than 50 million Vanguard brokerage customers will be able to invest in regulated crypto ETFs and funds, including those tied to Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and Solana. This move follows strong demand from both individual and institutional investors and comes after the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, which brought significant inflows into regulated crypto products. Vanguard emphasized that it will support most crypto funds that meet regulatory standards but will not launch its own crypto products or offer funds linked to memecoins. The decision is expected to increase investor interest and potentially impact market liquidity, as more participants gain access to digital assets through a major financial platform.
