Yield Guild Games shuts down YGG Play, pivots to AI data

Yield Guild Games (YGG) is closing its game publishing division, YGG Play, due to ongoing challenges in the crypto and gaming industries. Despite generating over $9 million in revenue and launching titles like LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper, the division was found to be commercially unsustainable. The shutdown will result in 35 job losses, with the YGG Play platform and its games going offline by August 1. However, some third-party titles, such as GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker, will continue to operate independently. YGG is now shifting its focus to providing gaming-derived behavioral datasets for AI training. Backed by a treasury exceeding $20 million, the company is supporting affected employees during the transition and aims to leverage its resources for this new strategic direction.
