Standard Chartered: DeFi to reach $2.7T, UNI to hit $100

Standard Chartered sees DeFi assets hitting $2.7T by 2030, with Uniswap’s UNI token possibly reaching $100 as tokenization and traditional finance drive growth.

Standard Chartered predicts that assets locked in decentralized finance (DeFi) could soar to $2.7 trillion by 2030—a 37-fold increase from current levels. This growth is expected to be driven by the tokenization of real-world assets and the migration of crypto-native assets onto on-chain protocols. The bank anticipates the share of tokenized assets in DeFi will rise from 3.5% to 30% by the end of the decade. Uniswap, a leading decentralized exchange, is highlighted as a major beneficiary, with its UNI token projected to surge from around $2.70 to $100 by 2030. Standard Chartered's report emphasizes Uniswap's automated market maker model, structural neutrality, and dominance in trading highly correlated pairs as key strengths. The activation of Uniswap's fee switch, which burns about 1% of UNI supply annually, is also seen as enhancing token scarcity. As traditional finance integrates with DeFi, Uniswap could become a central trading venue for tokenized assets, potentially outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum.
