Ark Invest Doubles Down on Crypto Stocks Despite Market Slump
Ark Invest boosted its crypto stock holdings, buying millions in Block, Circle, and Coinbase during a market downturn. Despite falling prices, the firm increased its positions, signaling long-term confidence in digital assets.
Ark Invest has significantly increased its holdings in crypto-related stocks during a period of market decline, purchasing substantial amounts of Block, Circle, and Coinbase shares across its exchange-traded funds. The firm acquired $13.5 million in Block, $7.6 million in Circle, and $3.86 million in Coinbase, primarily through the Ark Innovation ETF. Coinbase now represents the fund’s fourth-largest holding at $391 million, accounting for 5.22% of the portfolio, with Circle and Block also holding prominent positions. Additional purchases included Bullish, Robinhood Markets, and the Ark-21Shares spot bitcoin ETF. Despite a sharp drop in crypto stock prices—Block down 20.54%, Circle down 51%, and Coinbase down 30% over the past month—Ark Invest continued to add to its positions, reflecting a long-term conviction in digital asset infrastructure and payment platforms. The broader crypto market has also declined, with Bitcoin trading at $87,948, down from its $126,000 all-time high six weeks ago, amid thin liquidity and macroeconomic uncertainty.
