Synthesia doubles valuation; Nvidia bets big on AI infrastructure

Synthesia raised $200M, doubling its valuation to $4B, and launched an employee liquidity program. Nvidia invested $2B in CoreWeave, boosting its stock and expanding AI infrastructure partnerships.

Synthesia, a London-based AI startup, has secured $200 million in a Series E funding round, doubling its valuation to $4 billion. The round was led by Google Ventures, with participation from Nvidia, Accel, and others. This investment will accelerate the development of Synthesia’s AI video avatar technology, expanding its use from script reading to real-time, interactive conversations for sales training, recruitment, and HR applications. In April 2025, Synthesia surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and aims to exceed $200 million in 2026. Its major clients include Microsoft, Bosch, Merck, and SAP. The company also introduced a structured employee liquidity program with Nasdaq, allowing early employees to realize financial gains while the company remains private. Meanwhile, Nvidia announced a $2 billion investment in AI infrastructure provider CoreWeave, following a previous $6.3 billion computing services agreement. This investment, at $87.20 per share, caused CoreWeave’s stock to surge over 10% and will support the development of more than five gigawatts of AI factories by 2030, leveraging Nvidia’s Rubin platform, Vera CPUs, and Bluefield storage systems. CoreWeave holds a $55.6 billion revenue backlog from contracts with OpenAI and Meta Platforms.
