SWIFT official denies XRP token integration rumors

Tom Zschach, former SWIFT executive, has firmly denied any plans for SWIFT to integrate or support Ripple's XRP token, stating there are no such discussions or intentions.

Tom Zschach, former Chief Innovation Officer at SWIFT, has firmly denied rumors that the global financial messaging network plans to integrate or support Ripple's XRP token. These rumors, largely spread by XRP supporters on social media, speculated that SWIFT might abandon its own digital currency projects in favor of collaborating with public tokens like XRP. Addressing the claims directly on X, Zschach stated, "Not happening," making it clear there is no possibility of a partnership or integration with XRP. He has previously criticized Ripple and XRP, questioning their utility and decentralization, and has compared Ripple's technology to outdated systems. Currently, SWIFT is focused on tokenized bank deposits and enhancing cross-border payment links between institutions. There is no indication that XRP will be included in SWIFT's infrastructure. Zschach's clear denial puts these persistent rumors to rest.
