MoneyGram joins Solana as validator, expands payments
MoneyGram is now a validator on Solana, joining its developer platform to expand blockchain payment services and collaborate with partners like Mastercard.
MoneyGram has officially become a validator on the Solana blockchain, marking its entry into the Solana ecosystem. This makes Solana the third public blockchain where MoneyGram operates an official validator, after Tempo and Midnight Network. As a validator, MoneyGram will stake SOL tokens, process transaction blocks, and help secure and enhance the performance of the Solana network. Joining the Solana Developer Platform also gives MoneyGram access to tools for building and launching financial products. This move enables collaboration with other institutions, such as Mastercard, and aligns with MoneyGram’s broader strategy to expand its blockchain-based payment services. The company aims to further integrate digital assets and stablecoins into its global remittance infrastructure.
