XRP Ledger unveils permissioned DEX for institutions

XRP Ledger launches a permissioned DEX, letting only verified institutions trade digital assets securely and compliantly, with advanced identity and token escrow features.

The XRP Ledger has activated the XLS-81 amendment, introducing a permissioned decentralized exchange (DEX) framework designed for regulated institutions like banks and brokers. This upgrade enables the creation of members-only DEX environments, where only verified and approved entities can participate in trading activities. Access is managed through permissioned domains and credential-based verification, ensuring compliance with KYC and AML standards. The infrastructure also incorporates XLS-80 for identity-aware networking and XLS-85 for token escrow, supporting conditional settlement for stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets. This permissioned DEX allows institutions to securely trade digital assets on-chain, control counterparty eligibility, and maintain regulatory compliance, while leveraging the speed and transparency of the XRP Ledger. The development aims to bridge traditional finance and blockchain markets, offering a compliant and efficient trading solution for institutional participants.
