LSEG launches blockchain settlement platform for banks

LSEG launches DiSH, a blockchain platform for instant, 24/7 settlement of tokenized bank deposits and assets, aiming to reduce risk and boost liquidity across currencies and networks.

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has introduced the Digital Settlement House (DiSH), a blockchain-based platform designed for instant, 24/7 settlement of both traditional and digital assets. DiSH enables financial institutions to settle transactions across multiple currencies and networks, enhancing efficiency and flexibility. The platform tokenizes commercial bank deposits as "DiSH Cash" on its ledger, allowing immediate ownership and transferability while the actual funds remain at the banks. DiSH supports payment-versus-payment (PvP) and delivery-versus-payment (DvP) settlement, bridging on-chain and off-chain systems for synchronized settlement, improved liquidity management, and risk reduction. DiSH can operate as a standalone ledger or as a notary for settlements on other networks, integrating with both current and emerging market infrastructures. This launch follows a successful proof of concept with Digital Asset and several financial institutions, positioning DiSH as a key layer for next-generation settlement workflows.
