Ripple donates $300,000 for Nepal and Tibet flood relief

Ripple donates $300,000 to support emergency food, water, and sanitation relief after devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet left hundreds dead and thousands missing.

Ripple has donated $300,000 to World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps to aid emergency relief efforts after catastrophic flooding in Nepal and Tibet. The disaster, caused by a Himalayan glacier collapse, sent ice, rock, mud, and water into river valleys near the Nepal-China border, resulting in hundreds of deaths and thousands missing. As of August 30, at least 734 people were reported dead in Nepal, 16 in Tibet, and over 3,000 missing. The donated funds will support emergency meal distribution, clean water access, and sanitation programs in severely affected areas, including the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Both organizations are working closely with local authorities to address urgent needs, as damaged infrastructure has complicated rescue and supply operations. Ripple did not specify how the donation would be divided between the two organizations.
