E*TRADE launches spot crypto trading for BTC, ETH, SOL
E*TRADE now offers spot trading for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana with a 0.5% fee. Clients can manage crypto and traditional assets together; external wallet transfers are planned for later this year.
Morgan Stanley's E*TRADE has fully launched spot cryptocurrency trading, allowing eligible clients to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana directly within their brokerage accounts. This new service, powered by Zero Hash, lets users view crypto holdings alongside traditional investments for a seamless portfolio experience. Each crypto transaction carries a 0.5% fee, positioning E*TRADE competitively among leading platforms. Currently, transfers to external wallets are not supported, but this feature is expected to roll out later this year. The launch follows a successful pilot phase and is part of broader E*TRADE upgrades, including fractional share trading, enhanced retirement planning tools, and IPO center improvements. This move underscores the growing adoption of digital assets by traditional financial institutions and signals deeper mainstream integration of cryptocurrencies.
